Selby-Rickit one of Five Haier Pulse Players in Silver Ferns Squad
Silver Ferns coach Waimarama Taumaunu has selected four players from the Haier Pulse’s successful 2013 campaign, along with new signing Irene van Dyk, in the squad which will contest the Constellation Cup against the Australian Diamonds next month.
Uncapped defender Te Huinga Reo Selby-Rickit, will join Katrina Grant, Joline Henry, Camilla Lees and van Dyk in the 12-strong squad, who will get their campaign underway with the first test on Sunday 15 September in Invercargill.
Haier Pulse acting CEO Libby Carson was delighted with such excellent representation on the international stage. “Selection for the Silver Ferns is what every New Zealand player strives for and it’s fantastic that these players have been rewarded for their excellent performances during the season. We’re all particularly pleased to see Hu (Selby-Rickit) make the cut, which she thoroughly deserves after working so hard work throughout the year.”
The Constellation Cup will be followed by three tests against Malawi in October, the Fast5 Netball World Series in November and the Silver Ferns tour of England in the new year.
