September in our venues almost feels like a 'PWV NZ Music Month' with a wealth of top Kiwi talent on offer. We are proud to host the likes of The Rodger Fox 40th Anniversary Tour bringing big band jazz sounds to stage, Stan Walker with his World Tour of NZ, Fly My Pretties with a stunning line up and Fat Freddy's Drop celebrating the release of their album 'Blackbird'. It's also the time of amazing creativity as the World of WearableArt comes to life at the TSB Bank Arena. Check out the wealth of shows listed below, all LIVE in Wellington in September keeping you entertained in our coolest little capital!
OPERA AMIDST A SWIRLING OCEAN TALE
The Flying Dutchman
Part of the NBR New Zealand Opera 2013 season. The Flying Dutchman is a tale of a cursed sea captain, sailing his phantom ship across the world’s oceans in search of true love - the one thing that can save him. Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman broods tension, shows boundless emotion and conveys sweet melodies ensuring it is still a firm favourite today. St James Theatre, four performances only between 14 to 21 September.

Claimed to be the biggest rock show since AC/DC! Catch ACCA DACCA at the Opera House, 19 November. Exciting news kids...the Ready, Steady, Wiggle tour is heading our way! St James Theatre, 23 November. You Gotta Be Joking is a NZ comedy directed by Geraldine Brophy, Opera House, 4 December. Don't miss the critically-acclaimed music legend Leonard Cohen who will be performing two shows at the TSB Bank Arena, 17-18 December.

To celebrate 10 years of Fly My Pretties, four renowned past members who hail from Wellington will be joining the Homeland cast just for their hometown performance, taking the total musicians on stage to a sizeable 16 at both shows in the Capital. Special guest cast members that will be performing during part two of the Wellington shows include: Rio Hunuki-Hemopo (TrinityRoots), Lisa Tomlins, Iraia Whakamoe (The Nudge) and Eva Prowse. Footnote Dance Made in New Zealand 2013 is celebrating Kiwi choreography, Opera House, 21-22 August. The NZSO National Youth Orchestra musicians are partnering with the NZSO and international guest tutors - experience the excitement! Michael Fowler Centre, 30 August.
