Last chance to register for Youthtown Creatifs Young Designer Awards
Aspiring young New Zealand designers and artists have just two weeks to register for the 2013 Youthtown Creatifs Young Designer Awards.
Official registrations close at 5pm on Friday 23 August, with all constructed garments and designs due by 5pm on Friday 6 September.
The Awards, now in its second year, give young Kiwi designers aged 13-18 years, the opportunity to embrace their creativity and showcase their fashion, artistic and design talents.
This year’s two categories are the AUT Fashion Design Award (requiring designers to produce a ‘ready to wear’ garment) and the AUT Wearable Art Award (requiring designers to create a mask inspired by their “identity”.)
To date, entries have been received from regions right across New Zealand. All entrants who send in an entry form by Friday 23 August will receive a courier ticket to get their entries to Auckland for judging.
The two Supreme winners will receive an incredible prize package designed to support and encourage their interest in the arts. This includes a Brother computerised home sewing machine (worth $999), return flights to Auckland to meet the judges and participate in a photoshoot, a tour of the AUT Fashion Design department, tickets to the highly anticipated 2013 AUT Rookie show in November and a trophy.
To enter the 2013 Youthtown Creatifs Young Designer Awards, download an entry form at www.youthtowncreatifs.org.nz or visit the Facebook page www.facebook.com/YouthtownCreatifs.
Winners will be announced in late September.
