Opera Box -studio comedies in the heart of Newmarket 22-25 August.
A winter warming double bill of comedy staged in a contemporary fringe setting at the Factory Theatre in Eden Street Newmarket from Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th August.
Featuring Not in Front of the Waiter (or Under the Aspidistra). A compilation of sparkling music from Offenbach combining farce, intrigue, a surprise parent and life’s lighter dramas all set in a private room of a classy French restaurant! Starring Bernice Austin, Lauren Roscoe, Laurence Mossman and Matthew Jackson as the cheating couples with Tavis Gravatt as Block the waiter, who has a surprising story to tell. Followed by Seymour Barab’s A Game of Chance (What would you have wished for?). A “Representative” (messenger of fate) invites three bored young knitters to make a wish for their ideal future. Each girl has her greatest wish granted, but later in life - are they happy with what they have chosen or should they have asked for more? Starring Leila Alexander, Hannah Bryant and Charlotte Pridham as the Knitters and Callum Blackmore as the Representative.
The double bill will be presented onstage at the Factory Theatre Thursday 22nd, Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th August at 7.30pm plus 3pm matinees on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August.
The Factory Theatre is a few minutes’ walk from Newmarket’s public car parks, rail and bus transport is around the corner.
The Factory Theatre has ground floor street access to flat floor or tiered reserved seating and is round the corner from the main shopping and café areas of Broadway, Newmarket.
The production is suitable for adults, families, senior citizens, children, all ages.
