Two new ski and snowboard programmes for locals at The Remarkables

Queenstown’s The Remarkables ski area is launching two new programmes – the Sunday Squad Club and the Big Mountain workshop Series.

The 2013 Sunday Squad Club is designed for children who want to maximise their winter by skiing or riding with their buddies in a fun and safe environment. With transport and lunch included, all parents have to do is take them to the bus stop and pick up again at the end of the day, safe in the knowledge they are fully supervised from whoa to go.

Focussing on all mountain skills and using the same instructor, youngsters will be taken through a progressive six-Sunday programme which will include freestyle and free-ride portions as their skills develop.

Then for expert adult skiers and snowboarders who have ‘nailed’ the corduroy and get off-piste whenever they can, the Big Mountain Workshop Series will also run for six weeks with a tailored and individualised programme for both disciplines.

Each daily three-hour clinic will have a specific focus and outcome and will be led by expert coaches, exploring everything the Remarks has to offer including chutes and steeps.

Both programmes start on Sunday August 4 and run weekly until September 8. The Sunday Squad Club costs $649 for the six weeks, including transport and lunch (lift passes not included), with pick-ups and drop-offs at the Station Building in central Queenstown and the Frankton bus shelter.

The Big Mountain Workshops cost $349 and do not include lift passes, lunch or transport.
