Light Up the Leafy Night Tonight

18 July 2013

Light Up the Leafy Night Tonight

The Christchurch Botanic Gardens are celebrating their 150th anniversary with Light Up the Leafy Night, a magically-lit trail from 5.30pm–7pm tonight, Thursday 18 July, and every night through to Sunday 21 July and again from Thursday 25 – Sunday 28 July.

Bring a torch and explore the mystery of the Gardens after dark. The self-guided walk will take approximately 45 minutes. You will meet aerialists and fire performers along the way and see the Gardens showcased in a unique way. Keep an eye out for sharks and gnomes and other creatures that will come out under cover of darkness in the Gardens. And be prepared for a guest appearance by the Bat-signal!

Younger visitors may enjoy the MORE FM Grand Parade on Saturday 20 July. More information on this TV2 Kidsfest event is available here: http://www.ccc.govt.nz/thecouncil/newsmedia/mediareleases/2013/201307161.aspx

This is a free event. Park at the Armagh St Botanic Gardens Car Park – and don't forget the torch!
