New Zealand’s First Eco-Fashion Week with 'Sustainable Style' Model 2013 Hannah Pasene
Wellington, New Zealand
September, 20-21, 2013
An Annual Eco Fashion Runway Event exposing NZ Eco Fashion – Wellington New Zealand
Designer Denise Anglesey and co-founder of this event is inspired to announce the first NZ Eco Fashion Exposed Event. An
Eco Fashion runway of ecologically, environmentally and ethically sustainable, plus up cycled fashion.
Ever since she started designing, manufacturing and marketing her own personal brand of up-cycled garments in 2008 this
inaugural runway event has been in her mind. The aim of the event is to highlight and make accessible to the public
eco-fashion options, including wearable fashion, accessories, gifts and items for the home.
This concept is a first for New Zealand on this scale and has been a huge success overseas in Vancouver, Berlin and Hong
Kong. From a fashion perspective – ‘ECO is IN’. This will be an event the Fashionistas will want to attend.
“Eco is in and New Zealanders are ready for it” says Denise.
The show will feature up to 14 Ethical/Eco/Up Cycling Designers including Denise’s own label - Denise H Eco Design along
with ethical, eco and up cycling designers from as far south as Dunedin to Waiheke Island in the North. Also featuring
our 'Sustainable Style' Model 2013 Hannah Pasene.
There will also be an exhibition of children’s wear, jewellery, accessories, skincare, makeup and gifts to match the
theme. The show has its own professional Stylist – Auckland based Nora Swann of Kila’s Style and she will be showing how
to build a fashionable sustainable wardrobe that matches people’s lifestyles and colouring.
The event will consist of workshops, a pop up shop, a children's eco fashion runway and the main event on the Saturday
night where the designers will take to the runway with their eco fashion creations. The designers are excited about
presenting fashion that is designed to reduce waste, and put together with materials where people have good working
conditions and where the environment is taken into consideration in the manufacturing process.
The event venue is at The Notre Dame des Missions Arts Centre at Sacred Heart College, Laings Road, Lower Hutt,
Wellington, New Zealand.
