The great kiwi BBQ cook-off takes place at Biddy Mulligans in Hamilton on July 27.
‘My Guinness Rules’ BBQ cook off will take place on July 27 from 4pm at Hamilton’s number one local pub, Biddy Mulligans.
My Guinness Rules is a challenge where teams determine what to cook with a box of mystery ingredients. ”Each team must have one "chef" who will do the cooking, and the meal must incorporate one half pint of Guinness,” says Duncan Otto, co-owner of Biddy Mulligans in Hamilton.
My Guinness Rules will see three finalists who will battle it out in a fierce competition. There can only be one winner.
“It has been a great competition so far, we have been pleased with what they teams have been cooking up for our judges. It will be exciting to see what they come up with for the final round,” says Duncan.
The finale will take place in two parts. First, each team will cook 26 entrees on two BBQ’s in 20 minutes. The next task will see the competitors cook 26 mains on two BBQ’s in 30 minutes.
The judges will score the teams complete dishes which are marked out of ten. Presentation, flavour, team interaction and creativity will all be taken into account in the judge’s scores.
“The teams will be able to scope out their competition when they get to try out each other’s entrees and mains,” says Duncan Otto.
Biddy Mulligans is Hamilton’s only authentic Irish pub. With great food and atmosphere, Biddy’s is fast becoming Hamilton’s favourite local.
So grab your mate and grab a pint and enjoy a great evening’s entertainment at Biddy’s.
