Team Orange & Black Revealed In Mitre 10 Dream Home

Team Orange & Black Revealed In Mitre 10 Dream Home
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The two Cantabrian families going forward to build their dream homes in TV2’s Mitre 10 Dream Home have been revealed!
Six families battled it out in tonight’s premiere episode, but winning positions as Team Orange and Team Black were the Giles family and the Fail/Blair family respectively.

In Team Orange, Martyn Giles is a sign writer and Sarah Giles is a stay-at-home mum. They are married and have two biological kids as well as four foster children together. Sarah home-schools all six children.

On finding out they were in the final two, Martyn and Sarah said, “We had such a sense of euphoria when the host, Simon [Barnett] told us we were Team Orange. This is such a huge opportunity and we are so grateful.

“All six children were bouncing off the walls for days after. We can't wait to pull up our sleeves and present the best possible dream home that reflects our family.”

In Team Black, Amanda Fail is a hairdresser and Jay Blair is a fabric layer and cutter. The de facto gay couple has been together for three years and they have three children from Amanda’s previous marriage.

Amanda and Jay couldn’t believe their ears when Barnett told them the good news.

“We felt our dreams were becoming reality,” the pair said.

“In just nine weeks time, we could be in our brand new home, created by us and designed for our family. No matter what happens, this is the end of our troubles and the beginning of our future."

It has also been revealed that this year, the teams will not just be renovating an old home; rather they will be designing and building a brand new home from the ground up.

The build begins next Tuesday when Team Orange and Team Black face their first room challenge - the master bedroom.
The teams have 24 hours to take their open framed room and transform it into a masterpiece. Their design ideas and ability to work as a team will be put to the test as time runs out.

Don’t miss Mitre 10 Dream Home on Tuesday nights, 7:30pm on TV2.
