Toy Love

Written and directed by Harry Sinclair, fresh from his success with Topless Women Talk About Their Lives (1997) and The Price of Milk (2000). Toy Love (2003) centres on a group of kiwi 20-somethings, who navigate a minefield of love, sex and infidelity. A romantic comedy with a bit of a dark edge.

Ben (Dean O’Gorman) is chronically unfaithful to his oblivious girlfriend Emily (Marissa Stott). He is able to be cavalier about his affairs until he meets and becomes smitten with the vampish commitment-phobe Chlo (Kate Elliot). Then the love triangle becomes more circular when Emily guiltily confesses to having cheated on Ben with her mechanic.
