NZ Fashion Weekend Opening
Party
Friday 6th September is the end of NZ
Fashion Week and the first ever opening party for NZ Fashion
Weekend. There are some limited tickets available to the
public and the night is an ideal opportunity to mix and
mingle with all the brands involved in NZ Fashion Weekend
and New Zealand’ s premier fashion media. Saturday 7th and
Sunday 8th September are set to be even more impressive than
2012 and we are projecting that around 15,000 fashion-savvy
guests will attend, based on subscriber growth over the past
year. There will be 20 in-season fashion shows from top
designers and high street labels and a vibrant line-up of
lifestyle seminars providing something for everyone.
We have ten innovative brands taking part in the activation lounge which is where you can try new products and - in some cases - buy at introductory prices. The activation lounge is a beauty mecca so if you want inspiration for a new look in Summer 2014, this should be your first port of call after you leave a seminar or runway show. The famous Designer Garage Sale is already filling up with desirable brands offering knockout pieces at drop down pricing so mark your diary now and start clearing your wardrobe to make room for the bargains. NZ Fashion Weekend will be the ultimate girl’s day out with sassy DJs, new product sampling and cool lounge spaces and bars to hang out in or park your man while you sample and shop.
A pumping fashion weekend will round up a successful fashion week and set the style bar for Summer 2014. Start planning your Fashion Weekend itinerary now and get your girls together for what will be a riotous start to Spring!
Tickets go on sale 19th July at www.iticket.co.nz and prices range from $15 entry to VIP packages at $150. This is astonishing value for the entertainment on offer, cheaper than the movies and all under one roof. The revamped NZFW website will also go live on 19th July so add it to your favourites on your web toolbar and keep checking for updates to ensure you are in the loop for special offers from designers and NZFW partners.
We Want You!
Last year over 400 volunteers assisted at New Zealand Fashion Week, arriving from all around the country to experience the event and gain inside knowledge of the industry.
Registrations are open now for this year’s volunteers, and many come back year after year, often progressing to take up interesting jobs within the industry.
Our current Designer Liaison, Nikki Harmsen, began as a dresser in the first year of NZFW, became wardrobe mistress then a producer, whilst completing her Design Degree. She then ran the NZFW office for some years before starting a family. She has been with us in one way or another from the start.
Other NZFW volunteer
alumni have accepted internships overseas with the people
they worked with at NZFW. These people have ended up working
in fashion journalism and media all around the world – so
a seemingly small beginning has led - in many cases - to an
exciting career!
Volunteers are needed areas across many
aspects of the Fashion Week and Fashion Weekend events,
including ushers, dressers, media and buyer hosts, media
assistants and production.
Winter 2014 collections from New Zealand’s top designers and next generation talent. All the shows are edited into snappy packages showing the best of the runway plus hair and makeup. It’s as good as being there and there will be viewer prizes for TV3 On Demand subscribers.
Check out our website to register.
Beats working at NZ Fashion Week
This
is our second year as an elite sponsor of New Zealand
Fashion Week, and we can’t wait to get stuck in for
another round. Led by George FM DJs, with support from The
Edge, we believe we have the perfect mix to get listeners
buzzing around the most exclusive fashion event on New
Zealand’s calendar.
By utilising our on air, online
and on site platforms, both stations will offer Fashion Week
and Fashion Weekend with a concentrated campaign, promoting
the right messages to the right people.
Keep an eye out
for our chill out area, George FM’s “Cone of Silence”
where you can escape the hustle and bustle and make a phone
call.
