Tamati Coffey Returns For New Zealand's Got Talent 2013
Embargoed until 6 am Thursday 6th June 2013
Tamati Coffey has been named host of New Zealand’s Got Talent 2013, coming soon to TV ONE.
The former Breakfast weatherman and host of New Zealand’s Got Talent 2012 will be heading back to these shores when filming for the number one New Zealand entertainment show starts in July.
Coffey has spent the past six months on a sabbatical travelling throughout the UK, the Middle East, Europe, South America and everywhere in-between.
He says returning to New Zealand to rejoin the show is an exciting and slightly daunting prospect.
“Last year New Zealand’s Got Talent was a smash hit,” says Coffey.
“Coming home to be a part of the incredible energy and all-out talent that’s poured into the production means I’m going to have to be on my toes!”
The popular presenter has no qualms about reuniting with judges supermodel Rachel Hunter and OpShop frontman Jason Kerrison.
“I’ve missed those guys!” he says. “We had the best time together on the show last year and have become really close.
“I’m also stoked Cris Judd has joined the line-up. He’s a major talent on the LA entertainment scene and will bring a lot of new skill to the judging panel.”
Head of TV ONE and TV2, Jeff Latch, says it made perfect sense for Tamati Coffey to re-join New Zealand’s Got Talent.
“Last year Tamati was the voice and face of New Zealand’s Got Talent, which was the biggest TV show of the past decade,” says Latch.
“He’s an exceptional talent himself, and a natural for the role of host and champion of the best and brightest talent out there.”
