More musical tales of resistance and rebellion
Activists recount their personal
experiences of the role of music in New Zealand protest
movements, in the latest event around the Revolting! The
Sound of Proest in Aotearoa exhibition at the Alexander
Turnbull Library in Wellington this Friday.
Guest speakers at the National Library building include photo-media artist John Lake (presenting A History of Wellington in 10 Punk Songs); activist Sam Buchanan (on the Politics of Music Production) and musician Don Franks, who will reflect on 30 years of composing and performing protest music and also perform some of his songs.
Entry is free.
