Canterbury Rugby announces SBS Bank as its principal sponsor

The Canterbury Rugby Football Union (CRFU) is pleased to announce SBS Bank as their new principal sponsor for the ITM Cup and Canterbury Sevens representative teams. In what is a significant commercial and strategic deal SBS Bank will hold the primary branding rights for these teams.

Acting CRFU Chairman Grant Jarrold said Canterbury Rugby is delighted to be sponsored by and work alongside the SBS Bank team. “This is a long term investment in the success of Canterbury Rugby and we are delighted that an organisation of SBS Bank’s stature has chosen us as their brand ambassadors.”

“SBS Bank has a fantastic community focus, a passion for rugby and strong work ethic – similar values to Canterbury Rugby. We are excited about what we can both achieve in the coming years through this successful partnership.”

The sponsorship deal will see SBS Bank front of jersey and collar positions for both the Canterbury ITM Cup and the Canterbury Seven’s teams.

SBS Bank Area Manager Canterbury Matthew Mark said the organisation was proud to be sponsoring and supporting one of New Zealand’s most prominent and successful rugby provinces.

“Canterbury Rugby continually strives for excellence making it a perfect match for SBS Bank”.

“The SBS team is committed to being actively involved in the Canterbury community. It’s something we pride ourselves on and we’re looking forward to rolling up our sleeves and getting involved at entry level. We’re really excited about this partnership and it further cements our commitment to the Canterbury province“.

The sponsorship deal is effective from 1 June 2013 and is the start of an exciting and momentous chapter in the continuing success of Canterbury Rugby.
