NSW Cup Preview: Vulcans v Wyong Roos
Wellington, New Zealand, May 11, 2013 – Vodafone Warriors centre Dominique Peyroux makes his return from a broken jaw
today when he lines up for the Auckland Vulcans in their New South Wales Cup encounter with the Wyong Roos at Westpac
Stadium in Wellington today (3.10pm kick-off).
The match is the first leg of today’s rugby league triple header, the finale being ‘The Capital Clash’ NRL contest
between the Vodafone Warriors and Canterbury-Bankstown (7.35pm kick-off; match day sponsor: Vodafone).
Aucklander Peyroux joined the Vodafone Warriors after playing 16 NRL games for the Gold Coast Titans.
After being used in preseason trials against his old Gold Coast side and Penrith, he started the season proper with the
Vulcans only to be sidelined after breaking his jaw in a training collision in March.
Today he starts his campaign again as he seeks to put himself in contention for an NRL call-up for the Vodafone
Warriors.
He’s paired in the centres today with fellow Vodafone Warrior Ngani Laumape, who has distinguished himself with five
strong NRL performances in his rook year. With veteran Manu Vatuvei returning last week, Laumape had no game time last
week as he filled the 18th man role for the clash against Gold Coast at Mount Smart Stadium.
The Vulcans go into this weekend running seventh in the competition with three wins, four losses and a draw. Wyong is in
last place, its side including Wellington-raised Arana Taumata.
