New single launches USA record deal for Nelson singer-songwriter
Nelson-based singer-songwriter Bryce Wastney releases his new single “Dead Man Walking” on iTunes today (1 May) – the first recording to come from his new record deal with USA label ‘Musik and Film’.
‘Musik and Film’ are a group of veteran producers and professional musicians who have worked with some of the biggest bands on the planet over the past four decades. Musik and Film has a radio promotion service that reaches 50,000 radio stations. President of Musik and Film, Stephen Wrench said that working with Bryce Wastney has been a very positive experience. "What a pleasure it is to work with Bryce - a real talent - with original songs,” said Stephen. “Bryce has such a unique view on life and the ability to cross genres with real music for all."
Bryce himself considers the new collaboration to be a career-changing one. “It’s been a fantastic experience to work on the single with world-class producers Stephen Wrench (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Toto, Rick Springfield), Terry Nails (Ozzy Osbourne, Axl Rose, Tommy Tutone) and Eric Charlton,” said Bryce. “I am excited for New Zealanders to hear the new single and am looking forward to launching my music into the global music market through my association with ‘Musik and Film’.”
Bryce returned to Nelson last year after establishing himself as a successful indie artist in Melbourne, Australia and has since been performing with Paul Ubana Jones, Jackie Bristow and Jordie Lane in addition to touring as a solo performer.
After the release of “Dead Man Walking” Bryce will be performing around New Zealand from May to October, including gigs for New Zealand Music Month in New Plymouth (25 May) and a national tour with Paul Ubana Jones in September.
