Abstracts are invited for presentations that reflect the theme of the 2013 NZRA National Conference. He Timatanga has been chosen to reflect the fact that there in an impending generational change in the leadership of our industry, with the possibility that new directions and new approaches will emerge. As an association NZRA has recently celebrated 20 years of building networks, capability, standards, and professionalism in the recreation sector and now moves into the next phase of its journey buoyed by its strong legacy and governed by a new Board. In a more light-hearted way, the theme also reflects the fact that 2013 is "Year One" for those of us who survived the predicted end of the world in 2012, based on the Mayan calendar.
The conference this year will run alongside Outdoors New Zealand’s World Outdoors Summit, and invites us to explore recreation "from the front door to the great outdoors".

• Innovative thinking in
recreation
• Recreation in Te Ao Maori
• The role
