All-Star Gorilla at the NZ International Comedy Festival

MEDIA RELEASE: For Immediate Release
WIT – Wellington Improvisation Troupe presents
ALL-STAR GORILLA
Improv Revolution To Strike in Wellington

Wellington Improvisation Troupe brings the law of the jungle to Wellington's Fringe Bar on Sundays during the NZ International Comedy Festival with improv at its most mischievous: Gorilla TheatreTM.

In All-Star Gorilla a motley crew of WIT's seasoned veterans (and the occasional piece of up-and-coming cannon fodder) will take turns directing improvised scenes, stories, sagas or songs – silly or serious – in a bid to win audience approval (and bananas).

"The catch," explains WIT co-creative director Lyndon Hood, "is the people they are directing in these scenes are the same people they are competing against. I don't know how familiar you are with game theory, but let's put it this way: shenanigans will ensue."

Wellington Improvisation Troupe is Wellington’s not-for-profit, community-based improvisational theatre group. WIT performs and teaches the skills of improvisational theatre at community venues around the Wellington region, and has brought its special brand of improvised theatre to Wellington since 2003, exploring improvised entertainment and storytelling in formats ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime. This Comedy Festival you can also catch them in improvised romance Thrills and Swoon at BATS Theatre.
