COMEDY AND SPORTS GALORE!

The NZ International Comedy Festival 2013 begins at the end of April leading into numerous shows in May to get your laugh on! We are excited to welcome comedians such as Danny Bhoy, Wilson Dixon, Tom Green just to name a few! The entertainment continues with loads of sport on offer such as Haier Pulse home games, basketball in style with Wellington Saints, and don't miss the world-famous ball handlers The Harlem Globetrotters!

WHAT’S COMING LIVE AND NEW ON SALE

Look out for Stage Challenge - going on sale soon with their May performances! HANDMADE 2013 is a festival celebrating all things handmade – learn to create beautiful and contemporary crafts, Wellington Town Hall (plus other venues in the city), 1-2 June. The well known children's books are coming to the stage! Hairy Maclary & Friends will be visiting the Opera House, 19-20 July. Spend An Evening with Joan Baez; America's legendary folk singer, songwriter and activist, as she returns to our country after 20 years. Michael Fowler Centre, 31 August. Stash the gold, guard the women and hide the rum ... The Pirates of Penzance comic opera is coming to the Opera House, 3 September.

The Golden Carnie Awards are a celebration of the finest from our very own national circus industry, Opera House, 20 April. The NZSO pays tribute to all of our ANZAC heroes with On Anzac Eve, Michael Fowler Centre, 24 April. ANZAC Day: We'll Meet Again features the Beat Girls and the Central Band of the Royal New Zealand Airforce, Wellington Town Hall, 25 April. Have a ball with the Wellington Saints vs Taranaki MountainAirs, TSB Bank Arena, 26 April. First Laughs kicks off the NZ International Comedy Festival with a touch of class, Opera House, 28 April.
