New CE for New Zealand’s leading counselling, family therapy, and educational organisation
Working in an organisation that gives people the skills to deal effectively with issues such as anxiety, grief, relationship problems, and family conflict, was the main drawcard for Relationships Aotearoa’s new Chief Executive, Jacqui Akuhata-Brown.
Jacqui, who was welcomed to Relationships Aotearoa national office in Wellington today, said she was looking forward to working with the not-for-profit organisation’s skilled and highly motivated counsellors, family therapists, whānau practitioners, and administrators, located across New Zealand.
“Together, we are looking forward to exploring opportunities to work with other agencies so that we can add value to the lives of people in New Zealand.”
Jacqui has an extensive background in public health, initially as a psychiatric nurse and most recently as head of the Ministry of Health’s National Screening Unit.
“My last role and this one share a similar focus,” she says. “Both aim to get in early and deal with problems before they become embedded and more difficult to resolve.”
