Become a Heads Up for Kids pirate this April, support Kiwi kids and win an iPad.
This April 12 – 19th, Lions Clubs New Zealand are holding the first ever Awareness Week for old money and foreign
currency project Heads Up for Kids.
As part of the Heads Up for Kids National Awareness Week April, Lions are asking New Zealanders to discover their inner
pirate in support of the project with the “Become a HU4Ks Pirate” photo competition.
To take part, dig out your stash of old NZ money and foreign currency, dress as a pirate, take your buried treasure and
donate at your nearest Heads Up for Kids collection point.
Have a photograph taken of you making the donation and post it to Heads Up for Kids Facebook page with your donation

Every photograph posted will automatically go into the draw to win a range of prizes including an Apple iPad and a
selection of gift vouchers.

Donation points are at all Resene stores, selected New World supermarkets in Wellington, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, Manawatu and Taranaki
and Remuera, or anywhere you see a Heads Up for Kids collection tin (as seen in photo)

About Heads Up for Kids
For the past two and half years, Lions Clubs with the help of Resene and Fastway Couriers have been collecting old New
Zealand and all foreign cash for the benefit of Kiwi kids.
The old and foreign cash is then redeemed for legal tender and used to fund young people to attend programmes that help
them build confidence, realise their potential and grow as a young person.
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand has estimated that there is over 80 million dollars in old New Zealand currency
unaccounted for. To date Lions have collected 14 tonnes which has been redeemed to close to $400, 000 in legal tender–
Lions are aiming to collect one million dollars.
