Wellington Repertory Theatre Presents Calendar Girls, by Tim Firth
Wellington Repertory Theatre presents the hit play Calendar Girls from 10-20 April, taking advantage of the strictly limited release of the amateur rights to raise money for leukemia
and lymphoma research.
Calendar Girls is based on the true story of a group of Yorkshire Women’s Institute members who posed nude for a calendar in aid of
charity after the death of one of their husbands from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Attracting more attention than they ever
bargained for, they find themselves revealing more to one another than they had expected.
Reflecting the unprecedented worldwide demand for the rights to Calendar Girls, over 20 community theatre groups around New Zealand are staging the play this year. Wellington Repertory’s production
is one of the first and the only one in central Wellington.
“One of the most popular plays ever, our production has attracted a very experienced cast and crew. We encourage people
to book early to avoid disappointment,” said Ewen Coleman, Director.
The production runs from 10-20 April (excluding Monday 15 April, and production times vary) at the Gryphon Theatre,
Ghuznee Street, Wellington.
To book tickets, email bookings@wellingtonrepertory.org.nz, or call 479 3393. Tickets prices are $25 waged, $20 unwaged, $18 for pre-paid groups of 10 or more.
