Auckland Cricket: Aces unchanged for final round

19 March 2013

Aces unchanged for final round

The Aces will stick with the same 12 that watched the rain fall on Sunday in their rained out game against the Knights.

The Aces have already qualified for the 1 v 2 semifinal but results from the final round will determine both who their opposition will be and also whether they complete the regular season in 1st or second position.

Competition for the remaining two spots is still wide open with all teams bar Otago still in the hunt.

None of that will be on the minds of the Aces though according to coach Matt Horne.

"We're just focused on getting another win really. Once we've got through this game we'll start looking at who our opposition will be in that playoff game."

The Aces opposition in that major semi-final will be either the second placed Northern Knights or third placed Canterbury Wizards.

The 12 from which a team will be named for tomorrow's game in Dunedin starting at 11am is as follows:

Gareth Hopkins (Captain) (Parnell)
Michael Bates (Suburbs New Lynn)
Craig Cachopa (Takapuna)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Donovan Grobbelaar (Howick Pakuranga)
Dusan Hakaraia (Grafton United)
Anaru Kitchen (Waitakere City)
Tim McIntosh (Parnell)
Chris Martin (Parnell)
Kyle Mills (Howick Pakuranga)
Colin Munro (Howick Pakuranga)
Bhupinder Singh (Papatoetoe)
