FMG Artist Breaks Record with Pacific Music Awards Nominations
Frequency Media Group, Dawn Raid and Young Gifted & Broke have received a staggering 11 finalist placements at the 2013 Pacific Music Awards, with one of their artists, Aaradhna, breaking the record for her high number of nominations.
The finalists, which were announced last night, include five nominations for urban soul songstress Aaradhna, three for reggae/RnB artist Swiss, two for hip-hop act Home Brew and one for the iconic Savage.
Aaradhna is the first artist since the Pacific Music Awards started who has received five finals berths in the one awards ceremony.
She is in the running for Best Pacific Female Artist, Nui FM Best Pacific Urban Artist and Best Pacific Music Album for her new album Treble & Reverb and the APRA Best Pacific Song for ‘Wake Up’.
She’s also a finalist in a new category, the New Zealand on Air Best Pacific Music Video, for her song ‘Lorena Bobbitt’ produced by Tom Gould.
Home Brew also feature in the Best Pacific Music Album for their chart-topping self titled debut, and are also up for Best Pacific Group.
The charming new face of Pacific Reggae music, Swiss, is a finalist in the Best Pacific Urban Artist, Best Pacific Male Artist and Best Pacific Song for ‘Slow Wind’, while Savage will also compete in the Best Pacific Male Artist category.
The Pacific Music Awards are in their ninth year with the winners set to be announced on 30 May. Frequency Media Group wishes all the artists nominated the best of luck.
