Aces Take Unchanged Line-Up Into Wizards Match
MEDIA RELEASE
Tuesday, 5 March 2013
The Auckland Aces Have Named An Unchanged 12 For Their Clash With The Canterbury Wizards At Eden Park Outer Oval In The Fourth Round Of The Ford Trophy Tomorrow.
The Aces chased down a formidable 319 for victory in their last outing in the Ford Trophy against the Firebirds and that total included the third century in as many games for the Aces batting line-up.
This time it was Aces skipper Gareth Hopkins who posted three figures but he was carrying on from centuries to Craig Cachopa and Anaru Kitchen in the first two rounds.
That kind of batting form sees coach Matt Horne comfortable with where his side is at and looking forward to being back on home turf.
“The pleasing thing about our batting so far is that we’re getting contributions right through the order and that’s what you need to win matches. The tracks at Eden Park have been great so far this season so we’re keen to get out there, especially after a long stint on the road.”
Tomorrow’s game starts a run of four consecutive home games for the Aces with the clash with the Wizards followed by games against the Wellington Firebirds, Central Stags and Otago Volts on the Outer Oval.
The 12 from which a team will be named for tomorrow’s game, which starts at 11am, is as follows:
