Singh joins Aces for local derby

MEDIA RELEASE
Wednesday, 27 February 2013
Off-spinner Bhupinder Singh is the only change in the Aces 12 announced to face the Northern Knights in Hamilton tomorrow in the second round of the Ford Trophy.

Singh comes in to replace fellow spinner Bruce Martin as he prepares for a likely Blackcaps debut in Dunedin next week.

The Aces cruised to an impressive five wicket win against Canterbury yesterday but will face a Knights team that sit on top of the table after a bonus point win over the Stags.

Coach Matt Horne was pleased with his side's efforts in Christchurch and knows more of the same will be needed in Hamilton.

"It was a great way to start the competition. I thought we fielded really well, Craig [Cachopa] batted superbly and we got some good partnerships going. Tomorrow's another day though and the guys know that we've got to get out there and make sure we put in another performance like that to make it two in a row."

The 12 from which a team will be named for tomorrow's game is as follows:

Gareth Hopkins (Captain) (Parnell)
Michael Bates (Suburbs New Lynn)
Craig Cachopa (Takapuna)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Donovan Grobbelaar (Howick Pakuranga)
Dusan Hakaraia (Grafton United)
Anaru Kitchen (Waitakere City)
Tim McIntosh (Parnell)
Kyle Mills (Howick Pakuranga)
Colin Munro (Howick Pakuranga)
Matt Quinn (Cornwall)
Bhupinder Singh (Papatoetoe)
