Festival Of Colour Tickets Go On Sale
LAKE WANAKA, New Zealand (February 22, 2013) – Tickets for this year’s Southern Lakes Festival of Colour go on public
sale at 8am on Monday 25th February with demand expected to be higher than ever for the six-day celebration of the arts
in Lake Wanaka, Queenstown and around the region.
The most popular shows including New Zealand’s top dance company, Black Grace and two appearances from world-renowned
investigative journalist, Seymour Hersh are expected to sell out quickly and organisers are restricting sales for these
shows to six and two tickets per person respectively.
General Manager, Lindsey Schofield encouraged people to book early but also to consider this year’s expanded Queenstown
programme as an alternative to the hugely popular Wanaka shows.
“Having a performance at Queenstown’s Memorial Hall every night will give more people the chance to see our most popular
shows. Black Grace, Fabulous Arabia, Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells for Two, Electric Wire Hustle Family, Strike, Baby O
and the new Dave Armstrong play Kings of the Gym are all transferring across the Crown Range,” she said.
The 2013 Festival of Colour takes place from 16-21 April and features an international mix of theatre, art, dance,
conversation and music including two world premieres, all set against the spectacular autumn scenery of the Southern
Lakes region.
In addition to Queenstown, the festival’s touring programme takes in Hawea, Luggate and Cromwell while the Schoolfest
programme sees artists and performers visiting local schools. Lakefront visual art, local exhibitions and street theatre
complete this year's festival.
