“It’s going to be lots of fun, we’ll be flying by the seat of our pants, and presenting new and old songs in a different light.

“I’m looking forward to playing a few more off the Exits album and some favourites we didn’t cover on the last tour, and Jan has her new album Lost Songs out soon, so the timing is perfect,” says Greg, who will catch the tail end of a NZ summer and bring his five-month old baby girl Ruby back to meet some of the family.

The Table for Six billing will also showcase Lisa Crawley, Ben King and Kurt Shanks and their recent releases, along with the versatile talents of Wayne Bell (producer, multi-instrumentalist) and Mark Hughes (bass).

Greg Johnson’s Table for Six – the players

Greg Johnson: He’s sung and written a string of unforgettable songs - Isabelle, Liberty (APRA Silver Scroll winner), Don’t Wait Another Day, Save Yourself, It's Been So Long, Now The Sun is Out, Kiss Me, I Got Opinions and many more, helping him net two NZ Music Awards and eight top 20 albums. New album Exits is the second to be released worldwide on Greg’s own label Johnson Music America, his 10th studio album released as he notches up a decade of Los Angeles’ living.

Jan Hellriegel: Jan seemingly burst out of nowhere in the early 90s with the It’s My Sin album revealing gems like The Way I Feel and No Idea. The harder-edged Australian-recorded follow-up Tremble was both Manic and a Pure Pleasure, and her ‘09 album All Grown Up heralding a welcome return for Jan and her fans alike, with much critical acclaim. Along the road she has toured with Jeff Buckley and the Cure, and contributed to seminal recordings by Straightjacket Fits and the Muttonbirds.

Ben King: Grand Rapids is the latest project for this former Goldenhorse member. His album Faintheartedness has received great reviews, with single Singing Showers Golden Lights nominated for an APRA Silver Scroll Award.

Lisa Crawley: Nominated twice for the Silver Scroll award and winner of the ‘Pacific Songwriting Competition’. Lisa recently released her debut full-length album Everything That I Have Seen to fantastic reviews, and has previously toured with John Mayer, Jools Holland, Nathan Haines, Julia Deans and Paul Weller. Lisa will perform at all shows except for Black Barn (Hawkes Bay).

Kurt Shanks: After a decade with Stellar, Kurt’s solo debut Blood Line Heart has drawn favour with the likes of Sunday Star Times’ Mike Alexander: “An energy and tunefulness just begging to be heard live.” Oxford Mail UK: “Kiwi music that deserves to fly.”

Wayne Bell: Wayne is a sought-after drummer, multi-instrumentalist and producer, lending his skills to such acclaimed albums as Jan Hellreigel's All Grown Up, Andrew Keoghan's debut Arctic Tales Divide, Gin Wigmore's Extended Play, and Ted Brown’s An Unwide Road.

Mark Hughes: The bassist of choice for an array of NZ talent over the years including Dave Dobbyn, Greg Johnson, Tim Finn, Bic Runga, Gin Wigmore, and Strawpeople.
