AUDITION NOTICE

Work hard, play hard in Long Cloud Youth Theatre.

Places available for Term 1.

Long Cloud Youth Theatre, run by Whitireia New Zealand, is calling for auditions for the Term 1 (2013) intake. Long Cloud Youth Theatre is a unique Wellington based training and production company for young actors aged 16-21 years. The program is designed to equip the Company with the necessary performance skills to create vibrant, dynamic, bold and relevant theatre. The program involves intensive training in movement, voice and acting as well as performing in Company productions.

Entering its eighth year in 2013, Long Cloud produces some of New Zealand’s hottest new talent. The members of the company come from different ethnic and social backgrounds, high schools and Universities from around the country. Many of the actors have gone on to professional careers in the performing arts industry and further training establishments like Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School.

Olivia Mahood (Long Cloud member): “With Long Cloud you get to make top notch theatre while being part of a great environment. You get to be around likeminded people which gives a strong sense of belonging and purpose, we’re a community, working and playing together both in and out of the room.”

The Company has a few places left for the first part of 2013 and is looking for ambitious, talented and motivated young people who want to embark on a rollercoaster ride of making theatre together. The program is run by Artistic Director Aaron Cortesi as well as experienced tutors from the professional industry. Auditions will be held on Monday 25th of February at 6pm on Level 1, Whitireia Performance Centre, 25-27 Vivian St. To sign up for an audition, please send name, contact details, and age to longcloudyouththeatre@gmail.com. The Book of Everything centres on nine-year old Thomas, a little boy who dreams big. This magical tale follows the story of a child who sees things others cannot imagine, and whose spirit and curiosity wins over those around him.
Thomas is writing a book. His father says all important books are about God. Even so, Thomas writes down all the interesting things he sees that other people seem to ignore - tropical fish in the canal, a deluge of frogs, the Son of God popping in for a chat – and calls it The Book of Everything.
