A YARDIE FULL OF LAUGHS
NEW ZEALAND COMEDY TRUST
PRESENTS
THE 2013 NZ INTERNATIONAL
COMEDY FESTIVAL
LAUGH YOURSELF
SILLY
It’s the three-week 21st that
you’re all invited to – heck, even your Grandma is on
the list, if she’s keen. In 1993 the comedy beast was born
and now it’s coming of age. Whoever you decide to bring
along to the festivities make sure you don’t miss any of
the stonking line-up in the 2013 NZ
International Comedy Festival, running 26 April – 19
May.
Audiences will be able to purchase tickets to two of the Festival’s most popular events, the Comedy Gala (Auckland) and First Laughs (Wellington), from Wednesday 13 Febuary at 9am – get in early, these badboys will sell out.
Kicking off the festivities as host for the Comedy Gala and First Laughs is the godfather of NZ comedy, TV Guide’s 2012’s 'Funniest Person on TV' and 7 Days quizmaster Jeremy Corbett.
The Comedy Gala, Friday 26 April, held this year at The Civic, is where Corbett will share the stage for a yardie of good times from a bunch of local and international jokers; The Boy With Tape On His Face (NZ), Tom Gleeson (AUS), Dai Henwood (NZ), Urzila Carlson (SA/NZ), Idiots Of Ants (UK), Ben Hurley (NZ), Chris Martin (UK), Fiona O'Loughlin (AUS), Stephen K Amos (UK), 2012 Billy T Award Winner Guy Williams (NZ) and so much more. This event always sells out. Period.
Corbett, with comics in tow, will then fly south to perform at Wellington’s opening Festival event First Laughs at The Opera House, Sunday 28 April. A few familiar names include; Stephen K Amos, Dai Henwood, Urzila Carlson, Ewen Gilmour, Tom Gleeson, Steve Wrigley, Chris Martin, Fiona O'Loughlin and Guy Williams. This is a night which promises to be crammed with laughs.
This is it team. 21 years. Time to ‘Laugh Yourself Silly’.
