The Court Theatre Now Hiring
Applications are invited for the position of Wardrobe Manager at The Court Theatre in Christchurch. The Court Theatre is an established theatre company that produces 15 or more productions each year. The role of Wardrobe Manager is a challenging and creative position with a strong design element to the work.
The Wardrobe Manager will:
• Work closely with the Directors, Stage Managers, Costume Designers and Production Teams, as well as casual staff and The Court’s Administration, to ensure the needs of the wardrobe department are met
• Be responsible for the management, sourcing and construction of costumes for all Court Theatre productions
• Manage staff and rebuilding the stock for our new theatre
• Ensure the ongoing maintenance and washing of costumes is carried out
• Facilitate training for students and current staff
The successful candidate will be pro-active, self motivated and will have excellent communication skills. An understanding of timelines involved in theatre production is vital. A background in managing staff and budgets and wide experience in all areas of sewing and costume construction is essential. The ability to work independently as well as with a team is a necessity as is the ability to build and maintain good relationships with The Court’s suppliers. A full driver’s licence is required.
