Penny farthing, BMX, railbike and roadster. How many types of bicycles can you name?
MOTAT is challenging you to learn a whole lot more during the weekends of February 2013, as it brings all things two wheeled to life in ‘Bike Month.’ This interactive and entertaining showcase is sure to make you look at your own bike in a completely different light.
With a number of fun, bike-based attractions including performances from synchronised bicycle dance groups, a retro scooter display and unicycle classes, ‘Bike Month’ will showcase the diversity of the common bike and highlight the history of two wheeled transport in New Zealand.

SUMMER SUNDAYS AT MOTAT
MOTAT will keep your Sundays action-packed and the kids full of flair this month, with a myriad of fun and exciting experiences on offer.
Inspiring an array of new hobbies to take home, a Victorian Village Handcrafts Demonstrator will be teaching how to tat and lace every second and fourth Sunday of the month. There’ll also be children’s bookbinding workshops every Sunday from the 10th of February.
Also in the calendar are a range of activities happening on the third Sunday of the month. A fun and interactive day out, MOTAT will treat you to live lolly-making, a military zone including vehicle rides, and a workshop in MOTAT’s mind-boggling telecommunications area.
On any given Sunday at MOTAT, visitors can enjoy an endless array of activities on both MOTAT sites. Kids especially love being able to take home a souvenir printed before their very eyes in the MOTAT printing press workshop.
