Brendon Leitch Heads North With Championship Lead
Brendon Leitch of Invercargill heads north to Hampton Downs in Waikato this weekend leading the 2013 New Zealand Formula
Ford Championship.
Leitch in his EH Ball/ITM Stealth shared victory at the opening round at Teretonga Park with Michael Collins of
Christchurch and then won the second round at Timaru to take a 40 point lead to the third round at Hampton Downs this
weekend.
The round looms as an important one for the championship contenders. The circuit was only added to the series calendar
last year and Brendon scored good points at the track as he headed for third place in last years championship.
"I'm hoping for a good round and to be really consistent and pick up some podiums," said the young Southlander prior to
heading north this week. "I'd love to have a go at the lap record too!"
Leitch has been happy with the pace of his EH Ball / ITM Stealth this season. "I am happy with the car. We have just had
to make minor adjustments - it's been going well. I will keep trying to extend that lead every single race and digging
away at it."
Leitch has 411 points in the championship, 40 ahead of Michael Collins with James Munro of Christchurch third on 333.
