Rose Battersby out of Surgery
Aspen, Colorado- 29 January 2013 (NZT) – Rose Battersby, the New Zealand skier injured in a skiing accident at the X Games in Aspen yesterday, is now in recovery following surgery at a Denver hospital.
Rose was participating in a warmup session ahead of the Jeep Ski Slopestyle event when she crashed and landed heavily on her back resulting in spinal fracture. After initial assessment at Aspen Valley Medical, Rose was transferred to Denver where she underwent surgery this morning New Zealand time. Rose is now in recovery following her surgery.
Rose's coach has been at her side since the accident.
Everyone at Snow Sports New Zealand wishes Rose all the best for a full and rapid recovery.
