Two young cricketers will be able to concentrate on their cricket after being named as the recipients of the ACDF
Mondiale academic scholarships.
Brett Randell and Ganesh Ratnasabapathy will receive up to $2000 of their tertiary education paid for thanks to ACDF
(Auckland Cricket Development Foundation) and Mondiale.
Randell will benefit from the scholarship for the next three years whilst Ratnasabapathy will receive funds for the
coming year.
Randell is a promising fast bowler who played three years of 1st XI cricket at Mt Albert Grammar School and is now
playing Premier cricket for Eden Roskill. He has been a regular Auckland representative at age-group level and is
currently part of the Under 19 team competing at the national tournament.
He intends to pursue a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation at Auckland University of Technology majoring in sport and
exercise science.
Ratnasabapathy is another up and coming fast bowler who attended Auckland Grammar School and was part of their 1st XI
for four years. He has now moved on to playing Premier Cricket for Parnell this season. He has also been part of
Auckland representative teams and like Randell is at Lincoln representing the U19 side.
He will commence a Bachelor of Health Sciences this year with the aim to pursue medicine in the years to come.
The ACDF Mondiale Schiolarships have been running for nine years and have provided a number of young cricketers with the
opportunity to pursue their studies whilst furthering their cricket career.
Mondiale has been involved with the programme since its inception and Auckland Cricket and the ACDF would like to thank
them for their ongoing and generous support.
