Explore the secrets of Gibbs Farm and help the kids of NPH
Generous kiwis will mix pleasure with charity in a fantastic day out exploring Sir Alan Gibbs farm in the Kaipara
Harbour on the February 21, with all proceeds from ticket sales going to the needy children of NPH New Zealand.
With over 20 privately commissioned artworks, Gibbs Farm boasts work by world famous artists and includes a massive PVC
tube tunnel, a giant giraffe and a huge 257 millimetre steel wall.
Kristina Cavit, Director of NPH New Zealand says the trip offers a rare opportunity to peek inside this exclusive spot
which includes a four kilometre walk around the sculpture garden.
“We feel very lucky to have been given this rare opportunity, and to have the support of the Gibbs Farm. Interest in
the fundraiser has been overwhelming, which is great considering all proceeds are going to help the kids of NPH,” says
Cavit.
NPH New Zealand is and an organisation that provides homes, education and health care for orphaned and abandoned
children in Latin America, and hosts regular fundraising events throughout the year.
The non-profit gives hope to children like Alicia Magdelena, from Mexico, who came to an NPH home when her mother died
of breast cancer and father of alcoholism when she was just six.
At NPH, Magdelena learnt to read and write and after graduating from high school went on to study finance and accounting
at the University of Monterrey, a significant achievement for a young girl who once struggled to survive.
It is the goal of the organisation to give these children the opportunity to build an independent life and break free
from poverty, something that NPH New Zealand allows kiwis to connect and contribute to on an international level.
“By attending one of our events, making a donation or becoming a godparent New Zealanders are making a huge difference
in the lives of these children who are otherwise left to die. The small donation cost of the Gibbs Farm ticket can feed
an NPH child for months and comes with the bonus of a fantastic day out,” says Cavit.
