LANEWAY ADDS ANOTHER STAGE SET INSIDE A SILO!
IT’S CALLED THE RED BULL THUNDERDOME
It’s true - another stage has been added to the already outstanding Laneway festival. The new stage named ‘The Red Bull Thunderdome’ will be set inside an Auckland Waterfront Silo and hosts a full and fresh lineup of fun and interesting local and international DJs.
“We are very excited to partner with Red Bull to bring to life the Red Bull Thunderdome - our aim is to build a 3am house party right in the middle of the festival with the best of Auckland and abroad battling it out inside one of the strangest venues in the city” Laneway Festival co-promoter Mark Kneebone says.
The Thunderdome will be located inside the single Silo, right beside the waterfront. Last year this Silo and space surrounding it was outside the Laneway Festival site, BUT this year we have extended and upgraded to include the Silo and grassy knoll next to it. Now we will have more room, shade and fun.
The Thunderdome will be an enclosed area, shut off by huge black-out drapes with air-conditioning, lights, PA and DJs battling it out with their craftiest tunes. With room inside for 120 people to dance, rave and allow their wildest dreams to come true The Thunderdome will add a new dimension to an already power packed festival.
The Red Bull Thunderdome will kick off mid afternoon and runs through to the end of the festival with the following lineup:
Phelps & Munro
A Place to Bury Strangers DJs
DJ Mirror Balls and Squeeky Eye
Beach Pigs
Golden Axe
95bFM's Pennie Black and Zac Arnold
Stinky Jim and Geezer Guy
Slutz with Kidz
This Is The Way The World Ends
Mellow Grave
St Jerome’s Laneway Festival - Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter takes place on Monday 28th January (Auckland Anniversary Day):
The lineup is: Bat for Lashes, Tame Impala, Bailterspace, Yeasayer, Real Estate Of Monsters And Men, Alt-J, Nicolas Jaar, Flume, Divine Fits, Jessie Ware, Polica, The Phoenix Foundation, Lawrence Arabia, A Place to Bury Strangers, Japandroids, The Men, Cloud Nothings, Kings of Convenience, Phelps and Munro, Street Chant, Deer Park, Beach Pigs and The Eversons.
