New Zealands Got Modelling Talent!
These summer holidays New Zealand’s best-read teen magazine* Girlfriend is on the move, travelling around the country for the 2013 Girlfriend Rimmel London Model Search road show.
Girlfriend, together with Rimmel London, Dr. Martens, Baby-G, Red Eleven Model & Talent and The Edge, will host shows jam-packed with entertainment and activity, while taking entries for the New
Zealand’s favourite teen modelling competition. The road shows will take place from January 17 at five Westfield
locations around New Zealand: Albany, St Lukes, Chartwell Square, Queensgate and Riccarton.
Judges will be looking for girls aged between 14 and 19 with loads of personality as well as a great Kiwi look.
Each event will be lively, fun and engaging, just like Girlfriend! Entrants and shoppers alike will experience more than four hours of high-energy entertainment, varying across the
locations. We’ve lined up special celebrity guest appearances, Rimmel London makeovers by professional makeup artists,
catwalk shows thanks to Dr. Martens, on stage makeup and modelling tutorials, a ‘Face of Baby G’ competition and loads
of opportunities to win spot prizes.
Girlfriend editor Sarah Lynch says, "I'm super excited to hit the road for model search. Each month we communicate with our
readers through the magazine and social media outlets and now we get to hang out at the mall together. It's a great
opportunity for hopeful models, but also for our team to travel the country and meet GF's readers."
Judges from Red Eleven Model and Talent Management and Girlfriend magazine will meet and interview the competition entrants. From this, five regional finalists will be selected and
announced at the end of each road show event, and once the tour is completed, five national finalists will be
shortlisted. Girlfriend will fly the five national finalists to Auckland for a full-day workshop, including a fashion
shoot that will feature in the March issue of Girlfriend. Then it’s over to the mag’s readers, who will vote for their favourite finalist via Girlfriend’s online platforms and, in conjunction with the judging panel’s scores, the 2013 Girlfriend Rimmel London Model Search winner will be decided.
Not only will the winner star on the cover of Girlfriend magazine and in an individual fashion shoot, she will be offered a modelling contract with Red Eleven Model and Talent
Management and receive a fantastic prize pack including a year’s supply of make-up from Rimmel London.
Promoted in-magazine and online through Girlfriend and associated media, the 2013 Girlfriend Rimmel London Model Search is set to be the must-attend event of the summer holidays!
