Revisiting Conversations: The Marketplace of Ideas
Triangle Television (soon to become "Face Television") will re-broadcast episodes from of the 2012 season of "In Conversation with Noel Cheer" between January 2 and February 27. The Conversations demonstrate the value to be found in gently inquisitive discussions, in contrast to the more inquisitorial style.
This week's returning guest is Prof. Andrew Bradstock who is the Director of Centre for Theology and Public Issues at the University of Otago. The Centre is a "think-tank" which promotes public discussion of public issues with no agenda other than to do the decent thing by those issues. With the slow strangulation of thoughtful discourse in the media and its replacement by sensationalist television and "personality" newspaper commentators, we need such a forum.
In Conversation with Noel Cheer, Triangle Television, Wednesday 16th of January at 7:00pm, repeated on Thursday 17th of January at 12 noon.
Triangle Television, the home of public broadcasting, can be received in the Auckland region on UHF Channels 41, 42 and 52.
Triangle Television is also transmitted live on streaming TV which can be received (as a live feed) on broadband-connected computers and on Internet-connected television sets throughout New Zealand. Point your Media Server or Browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, ...) to www.ecasttv.co.nz
From the 1st of February, half way through this "repeats season", Triangle Television will be re-branded as "Face Television" and will become available also on Sky Channel 089. Face Television will then continue to broadcast on UHF in Auckland until later in the year when the analogue service will be withdrawn. Further details will be provided as they become available.
In Conversation with Noel Cheer receives funding from New Zealand on Air. This has enabled us to introduce viewers to over 240 New Zealanders on Air and visitors to New Zealand during nearly 6 years of unbroken weekly broadcasting.
