Toes a-tapping at Tupare
Toes a-tapping at Tupare
31 December 2012
Treats for the eyes, ears and tastebuds are in store for visitors to Tupare on Mangorei Rd, New Plymouth, on Saturday (5 January).
The premier heritage property’s traditional New Year garden fair will feature a wide range of stalls as well as live entertainment by acclaimed country blues group Hard Candy.
“Tupare’s New Year garden fairs are always well attended – it’s a great opportunity for locals to show their holiday guests the stunningly landscaped grounds and unique Chapman-Taylor home,” says the Taranaki Regional Council’s Regional Gardens Manager, Greg Rine.
“We’re excited that Hard Candy is one of the attractions this year. They’re well-regarded musicians following the strong country blues tradition of The Warratahs and the Hamilton County Bluegrass Band. They’ll get toes tapping.”
The fair will run from 10am to 1pm, whatever the weather, and will include:
• Coffee and
tasty food options for brunch or lunch
• Local produce
– jams, fresh blueberries, honey, nuts, seedlings, plants
(ornamental, fruit and vegetable), lavender products, dips,
breads
• Arts and crafts – jewellery, clothing and
fibre craft, teddy bears, beauty products, books,
gardenware.
• Face-painting for the young and young at
heart.
Saturday’s fair is part of a year-round programme of workshops and other events at Tupare, Pukeiti and Hollard Gardens, the three heritage properties owned and administered by the Taranaki Regional Council on behalf of the people of the region.
