Singh and Quinn in for Knights clash
Off-spinner Bhupinder Singh and young fast bowler Matt Quinn have been included in the Auckland Aces side to take on the Northern Knights in the HRV Cup on Boxing Day.
They take the spots vacated by Bruce and Chris Martin who have left for the test series in South Africa.
Singh returns after playing the first game of the HRV Cup in Wellington and former New Zealand U19 rep Quinn joins the line-up for the first time after some excellent club form.
After just getting home in their second round clash with the Canterbury Wizards coach Paul Strang is looking for his side to build on that performance on Boxing Day.
"We were really happy with our effort with the bat but we didn't measure up to the very high standards we've set ourselves in the field and probably with the ball in some instances. The Knights are an in-form side so we need to keep improving to try and make it three from three."
The 12 from which a team will be named for the game on Boxing Day is as follows:
Gareth Hopkins (Captain) (Parnell)
Andre Adams (Overseas professional)
Craig Cachopa (Takapuna)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Donovan Grobbelaar (Howick Pakuranga)
Anaru Kitchen (Waitakere City)
Kyle Mills (Howick Pakuranga)
Phil Mustard (Overseas professional)
Matt Quinn (Cornwall)
Bhupinder Singh (Papatoetoe)
Lou Vincent (Takapuna)
Reece Young (Suburbs New Lynn)
