January International Tourists Announce Supports
The hectic summer concert schedule for 2013 features a number of international acts coming through New Zealand on their way in and out of the Big Day Out in Australia.
BAND OF HORSES bring their good friend and favourite support act, Australian singer-songwriter Mike Noga, to Wellington’s Opera House on Tuesday 15 January before bringing the action up to the Powerstation in Auckland on Wednesday 16 January. Moonlighting from his regular gig as drummer in Australia’s most critically acclaimed band The Drones, Noga has been touring the world in 2012 opening for Band of Horses. Critics have declared his solo album The Balladeer Hunter “an Australian classic” and Noga "one of Australia's most talented new singer-songwriters... a new Paul Kelly or Tim Rogers”.

CRYSTAL CASTLES will be supported at Auckland’s Studio on Tuesday 15 January by RANDA. Fresh from an enthusiastically received slot in front of Grimes, RANDA’s teen horror raps have been winning fans online and over the alternative airwaves.

Support DJ in Wellington will be self-described general hooligan Soundboy Tom and Auckland will be opened by GRGFMBRKFSTDJs – Nick D and Dean Campbell smashing an eclectic mix of contemporary alternative dancefloor bangers.
