Get your last minute wishes in to Santa on the Telecom Santaline
Santa’s phone has been ringing off the hook in the run up to this Christmas with kids (and adults!) calling the free Telecom Santaline.
In the run up to Christmas 2012 so far, the Telecom Santaline has received over 250,000 calls from around New Zealand, with the majority from Auckland, followed by Christchurch.
Telecom Chief Marketing Officer, Jason Paris, says Santa and the elves will be gearing up for a busy night this Monday ahead of Christmas Day.
“Not only does Santa have all his presents to deliver but, after providing the Santaline for 19 years in a row, Telecom knows Christmas Eve is the busiest time for the phone line, when it receives over double the average amount of calls in one day,” he says.
Last year some of the most popular requests were Playstations, dolls, mobile phones, iPods and trampolines, with some punters even asking for an engagement ring, an Airbus A380 and a baby! This year kids are even more technology savvy, with numerous requests coming in for everything Apple, especially iPads.
Anyone can call Santa for free on 0800 222 222 from any New Zealand landline, mobile or pay phone right up until Christmas Day. There are also dedicated phone booths set up at the Telecom Christmas Trees in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch which will be in Victoria Park, Waitangi Park and Latimer Square (respectively) until Boxing Day. Those who would prefer to let Santa know their wishes online can do so on www.telecomsantaline.co.nz.
Those kids wanting to call and let their friends and family know what Santa brought them this Christmas can do so for free on Christmas Day!
Telecom has announced landline to landline calling within New Zealand will be free on Christmas Day, so anyone can call those close to them who can’t be with them this festive season.
The free calling will run from
12.01am Christmas morning right through until 11.59pm on
Christmas night. It will be available to all Telecom fixed
line residential customers.
