Brendan Adams - Test
Strips
1 December 2012 - January 7 2013
In 2012
Brendan received a major Creative New Zealand grant to
research and develop a method of combining clay with
concrete and creating something both useful and aesthetic
from the results. The finial form shield is part of a new
series of works that have evolved from his exploration.
Brendan’s installation also includes a fascinating array
of ‘test strip’ tiles, giving an insight into the
incredibly detailed ‘recipes’ this master potter
explores.

Mieke de Court: Out of the

"I give new life to what would otherwise be
mundane objects. Transformed through a making process that
is both considered and intuitive, I reconstruct new forms
and give them new function as adornment."
