Nike Collaborates With Tom Gould for Air Force 1 30th Anniversary

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic Air Force 1 sneaker, Nike has joined forces with some of the biggest names in music, art and fashion, for its ‘The Ones’ digital campaign.

Launched today, Nike has created a bespoke Tumblr page ,which will house exclusive content of each of ‘The Ones’, kicking off with Australian hip hop artist, 360 and Kiwi photographer, Tom Gould.

In his short film, Tom Gould delves into the progression of his career from street art to photography; while Australian hip hop artist 360 reveals his foray into music and the inspiration behind his tracks.

New content will launch onto the site over the next two weeks from fashion designers’, Vanishing Elephant; music producer, Jonti; audio visual DJ, Sampology; Sneaker Freaker founder, Simon ‘Woody’ Wood; and curator and graphic artist, Mark Drew.

The campaign forms part of a global celebration of the past 30 years of Air Force 1 and the launch of the new Lunar Force 1 range.

Synonymous with basketball, the Nike Air Force 1 was born in 1982, reflecting unique design symmetry of form and function, reflecting basketball’s need for both skillful execution and unparalleled style.

Three decades and nearly 2000 different colourways later, the Nike Air Force 1 continues to be a cultural icon, on and off the court, and is a true representation of street style spanning music, fashion and art.

‘The Ones’ selected for this campaign are icons in their craft and embody that street status and youthful energy of the Air Force 1.

The new Lunar Force 1 range will be available at the following Foot Looker stores from 12 December, 2012: Swanston Street, Melbourne; George Street, Sydney; Queen Street, Brisbane; and Queen Street, Auckland
