Attention Sports Editors
BikeNZ Rider of the Year finalists announced
A number of Olympic cyclists were named amongst the finalists for the 2012 BikeNZ Awards today, with the winners to be announced on December 12.
Panel members from each disciplines community, member organisation and BikeNZ have selected three nominees each for Male and Female Rider of the Year awards in each of Road, Track, BMX and Mountain Bike; based on the 2012 calendar year.
There are
also three awards to be announced next week which are judged
across all disciplines. They are Best Emerging Talent,
Lifetime Achievement and arguably the most sought-after
award of the year: The 2012 BikeNZ People’s Choice

The BikeNZ People’s Choice Award is nominated
and voted for solely by the New Zealand public and so is a
direct reflection of the fans appreciation.
