Break out your beach feet for Jandal Day
Have you got your pedicure in order for summer yet because it’s time to break out your beach feet this summer with Surf Life Saving New Zealand and State Insurance. Surf Life Saving and State have been protecting Kiwi’s and our way of life for over 100 years and the summer of 2012/13 is no different.
The Surf Life Saving National Appeal including National Jandal Day is an exciting way to bring a little bit of the beach to your office this week. The appeal runs from December 2-8 and culminates nation-wide in National Jandal Day this Friday 7 December.

“As principal sponsor of Surf Life Saving New Zealand we’re excited to be back out there this summer helping raise funds and awareness to keep Surf Life Saving moving” said Kevin Hughes, Acting General Manager State.
“Our staff are breaking out their beach feet this summer to raise money by decorating their sales sites and offices, wearing their jandals on Friday and some of us are even volunteering for our in-house water bomb your boss competition.”

Here’s what you can do to help State keep Surf Life Saving moving:
• General public can donate at any State store around New Zealand
• Donate on our website www.state.co.nz/donate
• Text SURF to 4483 to make an instant $3 donation

Surf Life Saving New Zealand is the national body representing 73 Surf Life Saving Clubs nationwide. Collectively the organisation has around 16,000 members all dedicated to Surf Life Saving.

The charity makes sure that Surf Lifeguards get quality training, equipment and support to do what they do best – keep communities safe in the water. Surf Life Saving volunteer Lifeguards will give over 200,000 hours of their time this summer patrolling our beaches. While on patrol they will save over 1,000 lives, take part in 200 searches and take over 350,000 preventable actions to stop people getting into dangerous and life threatening situations.

About State
State has been providing New Zealanders with an extensive range of personal and business insurance services for more than 100 years and manages over a million policies on behalf of more than 460,000 New Zealanders. State is a business division of IAG New Zealand Limited, New Zealand’s largest general insurer.
