Tame Impala And the Eversons Added to Laneway Festival NZ
We here at Laneway NZ Headquarters are fizzing with excitement for this morning’s announcement.
Fuck the metaphorical Advent Calendar and the imaginative cardboard squares counting down to this date – lets just get to the announcement that you have been waiting for…
The last International band being added to the NZ Laneway Festival lineup for 2013 is:
TAME IMPALA
This Australian psychedelic rock project fronted by Kevin Parker, caught our eyes and ears after the release of their fantastic debut album from 2010 “Innerspeaker” and we have been asking the band to play Laneway NZ ever since. In October this year TAME IMPALA released another stonker - “Lonerism” - a meaty 12 track psych rock stunner, already announced as the NME’s 2012 Album of the Year, Triple J’s Album of the year for 2012 and gaining hugely positive reviews and accolades all over the world including here in NZ. With that, we are stoked they have agreed to play Laneway Festival 2013. The bands sound are described as youthful and often romantic – creating sounds that fall into a melting technicolour dreamcoat made from LSD. Perfect to witness and experience at the best NZ summer Festival – Laneway.

And adding in an extra local band for good times:
THE EVERSONS
The Eversons are a group from Wellington, who produce witty, punchy guitar-based pop tunes. This is the new project of Mark Turner (Little Pictures), though now he's traded in his Roland sample pad for a guitar and taken his music more into the territory of The Modern Lovers and Pavement.
THE LINE UP
The lineup is now almost 100% complete : Bat for Lashes, Bailterspace, Yeasayer, Real Estate, Tame Impala, Of Monsters And Men, Alt-J, Nicolas Jaar, Flume, Divine Fits, Jessie Ware, Polica, The Phoenix Foundation, Lawrence Arabia, A Place to Bury Strangers, Japandroids, The Men, Cloud Nothings, Kings of Convenience, Phelps and Munro, Street Chant, Deer Park, Beach Pigs and The Eversons.
