Napier Hill Cemetery Walking Tours
Once again over the summer the popular Tours of the Napier Hill Cemetery will recommence.
Join Hawke’s Bay Museum & Art Gallery Curator of Archives Gail Pope and award winning New Zealand author Peter Wells on a guided tour looking into the stories of some of the early colonists buried there - from the famous to the infamous. From someone who fell under a train after a high spirited picnic, to dying from fumes on a burning ship: from the elaborate tomb of a poisoned wife created by a guilty husband to the simple totara grave stones raised by friends to the departed.
Dates:
Sunday 27th January at 2 pm.
Sunday 24th February at 2pm
Sunday 24th March at 2pm
Funds go towards purchase of the works for the Hawke's Bay Museums Trust collection and the Napier Hill Cemetery planting project..
Cost $12.
