Chris Martin could step straight off the plane from Sri Lanka to join the Aces in their fourth round Plunket Shield match with the Otago Volts starting this Sunday.
Martin will be available for the final two days of the game subject to fitness, meaning that the Aces have selected 13 players to face the Volts with the other change seeing pace bowler Dean Bartlett added.
Despite the records that fell in the Aces last round game against the Firebirds rain denied either side any chance of a result on the final day. That result leaves the Aces with some catching up to do to leaders Central Districts but it's not something that is concerning coach Paul Strang.
"We've been playing some very good cricket and really positive cricket as well. I think if we continue to do that we'll see the results come. We're not worried about the points table right now."
The Aces face the Volts on Eden Park Outer Oval starting this Sunday 2 November before heading into a two week break before their next game against the Canterbury Wizards starting on 16 November.
The 13 from which a team will be named for Sunday's game is as follows:
Dean Bartlett (Ellerslie)
Craig Cachopa (Takapuna)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Gareth Hopkins (C) (Parnell)
Mitchell McClenaghan (Howick Pakuranga)
Tim McIntosh (Parnell)
Bruce Martin (Parnell)
Chris Martin (Parnell
Kyle Mills (Howick Pakuranga)
